The ride from Beechworth to Woolshed Falls and back is a cracker.
It's a 17km out-and-back ride that takes in part of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail in town before heading north onto Malakoff Road and along the Woolshed Valley.
Malakoff Road's tarmac section is fairly steep, so enjoy the ride down but moderate your speed with your brakes and be sure not to miss the turnoff onto the gravel at the bottom of the hill!
The gravel road crosses a small creek and passes through farmland on your way to the falls. Take care on the gravel, it can be loose.
Lock up your bikes at Woolshed Falls and enjoy the spectacle of this 25m waterfall from the viewing platform, or take the short walk to the top of the falls and relax on the smooth granite rocks or paddle in the pools.
If you've brought some food and drink along (check out our Picnic package) this is a superb spot to enjoy a picnic before retracing your route back to the Old Beechworth Gaol. It's all uphill on the way home, but if you've rented an E-MTB from us you won't even notice!
