About the e-bikes
E-MTBs allow you to go further, traverse more challenging terrain and not exhaust yourself in the process. If you are with a group of riders of varying abilities the e-mountain bike is perfect. Nobody gets left behind as everyone can move at the same speed.
They are the perfect way to explore the bushland and historic sites around Beechworth. No hill will be too steep and no road too long when you are on one of the Ride Republic e-bikes.

How do the e-bikes work?
Designed to enable you to ride further and faster than you could on a normal bike, the power boost when you pedal helps you save energy, increases your pedal power and simply makes you feel good!
The e-mountain bikes are equipped with an electric motor that is activated when you pedal. The technology understands the power your legs are producing and then adds appropriate amounts of boost. With this technology under your feet the Fathom and Vall E+ bikes make the hills around Beechworth achievable by anyone.

Bike Specs
- The e-mountain bikes are Giant Fathom E+ Pro and Liv Vall-E+ 2 Pro hardtail mountain bikes.
- There are 5 levels of boost.
- The e-bikes have a 4-5hr battery life.
- Shimano hydraulic disc brakes provide plenty of stopping power.
- The RockShox 120mm fork and chunky “Plus” tyres soak up trail bumps.
- The 1×10 Shimano gearing keeps things nice and simple.

What are they like to ride?
When you power the e-mountain bike on via the simple handlebar On/Off button there’s very little – aside from the tiny white LEDs on the control panel – to suggest you’re on a motorised bike. There’s no engine sound, as this isn’t a petrol motorbike or moped. There’s no vibration, as there’s no engine spinning. And there’s no lever or twist throttle like a moped or quad bike.

The power, provided by the battery integrated into the downtube, is only accessed when you pedal. It’s a boost to your own pedalling action and power, designed to help you rather than fully power you.
When you sit on the e-mountain bike, turn the bike on and push off for the first time, the motor starts whirring, the boost gives you a noticeable shove, and you immediately realise the hilly ride you’re about to tackle is going to be fantastic fun!
